The valley was 107 degrees. Went to hike Mount Charleston Area. Temp was a pleasant 78 degrees. Even came across some snow. The trail we took was about 2.0 miles round trip and included a small waterfall. The hike was moderate as far as physical activity but not too strenuous. Need to climb up and over some rocks and loose gravel. We had an enjoyable time.
Love to visit Mountain Charleston with my family, we all enjoy it very much, it's the perfect getaway from the Heat. There are very good trails for a good walk.
I didn’t just visit a forest — I stepped into a living fairytale. From the moment I arrived, I felt this deep, peaceful magic in the air. Everything felt softer, kinder, like the world had exhaled and finally let me breathe. Gentle fairies seemed to drift through the trees — not the kind you see in books, but the kind you feel. There was this sense that everything in the forest was alive and smiling. And the horses… oh, the horses. They walked right up to me, calm and curious, like they’d been waiting. One of them leaned into my chest, and I swear it felt like a hug from nature itself. This forest isn’t just beautiful. It’s healing. It reminded me what it means to slow down, to believe again, to feel connected — not just to nature, but to something bigger. If I could, I’d stay here forever.
