Shanty Creek Resort - Cedar River Golf Course

Played Cedar River the first round of our annual golf trip that took us to Shanty Creek this year. Overall, the course was in great condition and we had great weather and would love to play here again! On the downside was the staff - I thought they lacked customer service and the starters/rangers were very rude. We spent a lot of time waiting to be checked in the pro shop and the rangers seemed to have a lot of animosity towards us as we were a younger group. Even the halfway house staff was not pleasant to talk to. Not sure what was wrong with staff but I don’t know if I would play here again just based on the interactions that were had.

Loved the course, very challenging and wonderful fast and true yet receptive green. Some awesome houses to look at as well. Patty in the pro shop was our hero after a booking debacle. Not only did she get us out but we hardly saw another golfer all morning. What a great morning of golf!

What was supposed to be a fun and enjoyable annual golf weekend was turned sour because of the piss poor attitude of every SERVICE member of the staff. Paying over $150 per person for a round of golf only to be treated like we just robbed the place from the starter wanting to get in a pissing contest because his dementia forced him to forget who the first group is to to the half way house employee thinking if he ignores us long enough we will just go away and not have to actually serve us. No cash anywhere through the resort. Go to Boyne where they understand their livelihood depends on how they treat people. We’ll never be back.
