Shanty Creek Resort - Summit Golf Course

AWESOME cheap after 3 golf course at beautiful shanty creek! Me and the son go ALL THE TIME! One of our go-to places for a cheap day of outside fun

Our foursome played the Summit on 8/5/2022. Even though the price is the cheapest among the Shanty Creek courses it is no value. Poor hole markings, holes too close together, and no rangering at all. We were behind a foursome (dad and 3 young men) with only 2 sets of clubs, asked the starter if that was allowed and he just shrugged his shoulders and said only 3 are playing. All 4 played, all were terrible, and they were very inconsiderate of all players as they played multiple balls and in fact when we were directly behind them the man in the group threw 4 balls to one of the kids to keep trying his shot. We yelled at them and that helped them pick up the pace. They left after 9 and we moved along for a bit then got behind a group of 5 guys with 2 sets of clubs and 3 carts. They let us through and that was very thoughtful. Then we ran into another group of 5 with 2 carts and 3 sets of clubs. Overall The Summit is run like a free-for-all, no rules, no support, and obviously run by a non-golfer who has no clue. Sad situation for sure and gives the Shanty Creek golf name a big black mark.

Had a lovely day out at the Summit course. Greens and fairways in great shape. Staff was friendly and helpful.
