What people say about (Twin Lakes Golf Course)

Flavors & Fairways

Twin Lakes Golf Course – Lake Course (Clifton, VA) Played: Twilight tee time at 4:10 PM, walked solo round in under 3 hours 15 minutes. 1. Course Layout: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5/5) The layout is relatively standard, with no standout signature holes, but it's solid and enjoyable. Both the Lake and Oaks courses are designed for approachable, straightforward play. 2. Course Condition: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) As a county-run public course, expectations are modest—but the condition has steadily improved over the years. Fairways and greens were in good shape, though green repairs (like divot marks) could use better player etiquette. 3. Value for Money: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Twilight rate was just around $59—unbeatable value for a full 18-hole round on a well-maintained course. One of the best deals in the area. 4. Clubhouse & Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) The clubhouse has been recently renovated and looks great. Service is standard—not overly attentive, but not unfriendly either. Facilities, including the pro shop and snack bar, are solid for a county course. 5. Pace of Play: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) While my twilight round was smooth and fast (under 3 hours 30 minutes), based on many past visits, pace can sometimes slow down during peak hours. A mostly consistent experience, but occasional delays. 6. Practice Facility: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Twin Lakes offers a great practice setup for a municipal course, including a well-maintained driving range, putting green, and chipping area. 7. Scenery & Atmosphere: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5/5) The surroundings aren’t particularly stunning, but the course is peaceful and well-integrated into the natural terrain. Quiet and relaxing, especially for an evening round. Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.3/5) Twin Lakes’ Lake Course continues to impress with solid maintenance, great twilight value, and dependable amenities. While it may not offer dramatic scenery or a standout layout, it remains one of the most reliable and budget-friendly public courses in the area.

Great golf courses(2). Nice pro shop. Great driving range and putting warm up facilities. Played the lake course. Ton of fun shots. Fairways are very forgiving. We’ll designed and very pretty course.

I’ve been playing golf for 17 years (and played D1 in college) so I’ve seen the best and the worst of golf courses — both public & private. Twin Lakes used to be a great gem in northern Virginia but unfortunately it has gone downhill significantly in the past few years. I went out today (actually writing this from the golf course) and the rough was abysmal, it’s like their grounds staff gave up. Any ball that wasn’t in the fairway was either lost or took 5 minutes to find. The greens were so incredibly slow, like they hadn’t been cut in weeks (I don’t even want to know what number they’re rolling). The pace of play was terrible — we teed off as a 2some at 2PM. It’s currently 6PM and we’re on the 15th tee. This wouldn’t be so bad if the course was still cheap, but they charged $176 for 2 people to play this dog track. I am super disappointed :(
