What people say about (Springfield Golf Resort)

“Great value overall! The course has beautiful scenic views, wide lush greenery, and deluxe carts with ice pockets and great utilities. However, the bathrooms were dirty and the restaurant area could use improvement.” Went here a second time — The restrooms on the course are fantastic and very nice, better than other courses! And both times I’ve been here the ranger has patrolled keeping things in order! I like it 😉

I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my terrible experience at this golf resort so others can avoid the same frustration. From the moment I arrived on Saturday 4/26, it was clear that customer service is not a priority here. To start with, I showed up for my scheduled tee time—which, by the way, I had reserved in advance and had already been charged for. Not only did no one greet me or offer any kind of basic hospitality, but the staff immediately launched into telling me that they “don’t accept groups of one” and that I needed to have four people in order to play. No courtesy, no attempt to help, just flat-out refusal. It was rude, unprofessional, and frankly shocking. I tried to explain that our group had reserved a spot and already paid for it, but they didn’t care. They treated me like I was inconveniencing them just by being there. A short while later, my friend arrived—so now we were a group of two. At this point, we assumed we’d be able to play, especially since our group had a reservation and we were already out the money. But no—they still refused to let us play, again citing some absurd policy that they only allow groups of four. Who has ever heard of a course refusing twosomes? Not only is that ridiculous, but it’s also a completely inflexible and outdated policy that shows a lack of respect for paying customers. When we asked for a solution, we were met with dismissive attitudes and zero accountability. Not a single staff member offered an apology or tried to make things right. It’s outrageous to be charged for a tee time and then be turned away after showing up on time with a playing partner. This kind of treatment is unacceptable in any business, especially one that’s supposed to be part of the hospitality and leisure industry. If your policies are this strict and illogical, they should be made very clear upfront—and even then, there’s absolutely no excuse for the cold and dismissive way we were treated. Save your money and your time. There are plenty of golf courses and resorts out there that actually value their customers. This place clearly does not.

Played here the second weekend in Feb. with some friends that were down from MN. Some of us were regular golfers, some "part time" golfers. Upon walking into the pro shop, the two gentlemen behind the counter starting "heckling" my friends from MN (in a hilariously good way). After paying and grabbing a drink to enjoy before teeing off, they announced our group over the speaker for all to hear, still "heckling" the guys from MN, even coming out to watch them all tee off on the first hole. It was a great way to start the round, especially because a few of the guys get nervous. Course: the course was in great shape! Fairways and greens were perfect, greens even a little fast. The cost for 18 holes was the best you will find around, and it is a great course to work on irons and putting, since the holes are mostly Par3s (a few Par4s). Staff: the staff (from the pro shop to the beverage cart) were some of the most friendly, maybe the most friendly, I have met at a golf course in AZ. Inside the bar/restaurant they were also great. Food/Beverage: if you get the chance to play out here, plan on having lunch or a bite to eat afterwards. The food was fantastic and the pricing was better than most of the below average pub/grills around. Note: I have played a couple glow ball fundraiser golf tournaments out here as well. If you are looking to host something like that, definitely look into Springfield. They are able to set it up great for that type of event.
