Pleasant Valley Golf Club – A Hidden Gem Reclaimed I had the opportunity to play Pleasant Valley the other day, and I’ll be honest—I wasn’t expecting much. Based on some older reviews, I anticipated average conditions and an average day. But what I found was something completely different. Pleasant Valley is back—and better than ever. From the very first tee box, it was clear the course is being cared for at a high level. The fairways were pristine, greens rolling true and quick, and the rough was lush yet fair—not bumpy or patchy like you'd expect from a typical public course. It honestly felt more like a private track. One highlight? A stunning sunset over one of the par 3s—absolutely Golf Digest cover-worthy. The back nine, with its lush landscaping and almost tropical plant life, gave off serious Florida vibes, which made for a unique and enjoyable round. What made it even better was the great company—but even if you played solo, the course itself delivers. In terms of public courses, Pleasant Valley is punching above its weight. I'd go as far as saying it’s currently the best course on the block. Frankly, it puts Chantilly to shame, especially when you consider the fact that PV is public and Chantilly claims to be private. Final verdict: 5 out of 5. If you haven’t played it lately, it’s time to go back. The outdated reviews don’t reflect the current experience. Pleasant Valley has truly stepped up, and it deserves the recognition.
