What people say about (Forest Greens Golf Club)

Flavors & Fairways

Forest Greens Golf Club (Triangle, VA) Played: Early morning weekend tee time. Located off I-95, just south of Woodbridge. 1. Course Layout: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) The layout offers a fun and interesting mix, especially on the back nine, which is noticeably more challenging than the front. There are elevation changes, blind tee shots, and creative hole designs—not championship level, but definitely engaging for a budget-friendly course. 2. Course Condition: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) For a course consistently under $100, the conditions are impressive. Fairways and greens are well-maintained, even during the winter months. One of the better-kept budget-friendly public courses in the region. 3. Value for Money: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Excellent value. Forest Greens continues to be one of the top picks for affordability combined with quality. Great bang for your buck. 4. Clubhouse & Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5/5) The clubhouse is older and service is basic—not bad, just average. Nothing stands out, but it meets expectations for a course in this price range. 5. Pace of Play: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Weekend rounds can vary, but generally the pace is smooth. Slight delays may happen, but it's usually well managed and not frustrating. 6. Practice Facility: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5/5) Driving range and putting green are available and decent. No dedicated chipping area, which limits short game practice slightly. Still, a solid offering for a public course. 7. Scenery & Atmosphere: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5/5) Set among wooded hills, the course has a natural and peaceful vibe. Nothing jaw-dropping, but it’s quiet and pleasant for a relaxing round. Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.1/5) Forest Greens Golf Club is a go-to for Northern Virginia golfers looking for a fun layout, reliable course conditions, and unbeatable value. While the clubhouse and facilities are modest, the course itself provides a satisfying and challenging round—especially on the back nine. It’s a consistent performer in the budget-friendly category.

Nice course, well maintained. Great service from the staff too. Only recommendation would be to put water coolers throughout the course (at least 1 or 2 per 9 holes). I’ve played almost all courses in DMV and pretty much all of them have coolers out there for their golfers. Hope to be back here playing soon!

Sadly, I have to say that this course is trash at the moment. The day started with a starter to busy chipping and putting to really help groups. The tee boxes look decent, but the fairways and rough are garbage. The bunkers are also decent. The greens are slow and pretty bouncy. The bar is undergoing renovations, so they ask that you bring your own ice. I would say the value right now is about $6 not $60. I love the track and it used to be one of the best courses in "northern VA". Very sad.
