I started taking golf lessons this spring at Prince William Golf Course. The staff is incredibly nice. My coach is JC and is fantastic. He provides step by step instructions and provides corrections to form as you go which is so helpful in learning and not creating bad habits. I can’t say enough good things about this course.
I recently played a round at Prince William Golf Course and was very disappointed with the experience. Despite paying good money for what we expected to be a relaxing outing, several members of the staff made us feel rushed throughout the course. More concerning, two women in our group were told unsolicited that they should be hitting from the women’s tees and were criticized for the quality of their shots. This was inappropriate, condescending, and completely uncalled for. We understand the need for pace of play, but the manner in which we were approached felt more like harassment than helpful guidance. It negatively impacted our entire round and is not what we expect from a public course that claims to welcome all players. We hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the behavior of staff members so that future guests aren’t subjected to the same experience.
I can’t speak to the golf course itself, but I want to give a big shoutout to Mr. Bowers and the First Tee program. He’s fantastic with kids—patient, encouraging, and clearly passionate about teaching the game. My child has had a great experience, and I highly recommend the program to any families interested in getting their kids into golf. We'll be signing up for more lessons.
