Riverside Golf Course and Teddy Bear Par 3

This is in regard to the par 3 only (Teddy Bear) 3 stars only for the price, $15 is not bad, and the fact that it’s still a newer feature to the riverside course in general. The most frustrating thing was the pin location. Even off a decent tee shot, you had to battle the most undulating greens I’ve played on. One of the holes the flag was literally just leaning because they put it in the middle of the down slope. But that was a consistent trend, and they were also all like 3’ from one side of the fringe with the exception of 1 or 2 pins.

Here is another review for Riverside April 2025. Please avoid this course for the next few months. Greens are in terrible shape. This is the worst they have been. If you hit the green might as week mark down a two and pick up your ball. If not then add 4 strokes. Staff said that the previous superintendent used the wrong thing on greens and burned them. This is the worst greens in the city. Sorry but have to tell it as it is. Going to add pictures. Today is March 2025 and played today. The greens were in really bad shape do not understand why. This place was just redone 18 months ago. I have taken pictures of the greens really bad shape for spring. Second time I have played here. It was in a lot better shape this time hopefully in the weeks coming it will continue it will get better and better. The only thing is the slow play of people that have never played or just a couple of times. They are so slow. Can we get a Marshall out to speed it up. Never seen anyone two weeks in a row except the starter. I know there are no carts there yet but you could get one for a Marshall. Update we played here for the third time Mar 9, 2024 place was in great shape. Very nicely maintained. Greens are still being sanded from the remodel of the course. But overall it was in great shape. Hit a 82 today. Another great outing at Riverside today. It was in fantastic shape. The best shape of any course on Alamo trails in my opinion. The only problem is is they’re gonna have carts soon and the place is gonna be ruined because of people that don’t know how to 90°. I wish they would make it only pushcarts. However I know that can’t happen and it will look like Olmos before you know it. May 1st 2024 another great golf day with Alamo Trailsand Riverside. Hit an 83 today here’s a few picks

I just played riverside on 04-16-25 and I never thought I would say this about riverside, but their greens are the worst in town by far. Alamo trail should be offering half price green fee. Thats how aweful the greens. That's saying a lot because missions greens are pretty bad too. They are sooo bumpy and dead that you can't get a decent roll. The best you can hope for is to get your ball near the hole and have a tap in 2nd putt. Cedar great greens, northern great greens, olmos good greens and I only say good because #2 is a temporary green until further notice. Otherwise all the other greens are in great shape. I don't know what happened to riverside and mission because several months ago their greens were in good shape. The pics I posted are of #18 but all the greens look like that. If possible avoid mission and riverside and get a tee time at either olmos, cedar, or northern you'll have a much better golfing experience. This experience warranted zero stars but it won't let me give zero stars. So I have to give at least one star even though it's not worth it. That's how bad it is out there.
