What people say about (Brackenridge Park Golf Course)

yosy

Okay went here with friends to see them play and just to half out with them (not to play myself) but even if i wasent playing I had such a good time. When the weather is right I would love to just sit and lay in the grass i’m not even kidding it’s so pretty and the walking isn’t even that of a pain because with good company an entire afternoon can pass by so fast. Will definitely love coming again and fully recommend anyone wanting to play in a corse to come try this one out if given the chance!!

Let’s stay on top of the maintenance. Several fairways were just dirt on either the entire left side OR right side. More fairways need to be Cart Path Path only. Way too much cart traffic. More people need to walk. The photo enclosed (14) looks like it’s on the way to being dirt only. Olmos greens are starting to look like Willow which FINALLY got closed. TODAY, 4/18/25, out of town family member paid $87 for terrible green and fairway conditions. This course even when conditions were good/ fair never merited top tier of fees. The ONLY decent course right now is Cedar Creek. Apparently, a relatively new honcho who doesn’t know ANYTHING about central and south Texas weather and soil conditions has been overriding experienced staff and thus led to current terrible green and fairway conditions. I’ll will try to update today’s photos and try to tie in to these Germaine comments. These conditions will lead to good golfers paying higher green fees elsewhere that actually merit better field conditions. Quarry, Canyon Springs, La Cantera, etc. will start experiencing an uptick in business. The 3 newer photos were conditions for green 3, fairway 7, and green 13. If conditions are apparently know like in a recent post by ACGT regarding Riverside conditions there should be an EXPECTATION of lower green fees UNTIL conditions have significantly improved.

I'm giving four stars for Brackenridge, the staff were amazing, very helpful and were knowledgeable about the history of the course. Course conditions: I walked 18 and when we started was notified they had just punched the greens in order to try to make them roll more pure. Greens were not very receptive but they were playable, fairways, bunkers (found a lot of them) were challenging to get out of and the tee boxes were pristine. Overall I had a wonderful time playing this course and every golf entusit should play it!
