It’s honestly a shame what golf in East Texas has turned into. I hate to say it, but you're genuinely better off at Pine Springs if you're look to play here. If you're an avid golfer that lives in East Texas who values their time and their hard-earned money, do yourself a favor and start looking into a country club membership. The local public course options and the level of service around here are an absolute joke. After my experience today at Oakhurst, I’ve seriously started questioning whether trying to golf in East Texas is even worth the effort anymore. This particular course itself isn’t the worst I’ve played — but the snail-paced play, and the STAFF who clearly don’t care, keeping your $60 in your wallet starts to feel like the best shot you’ll take all day. Learn from my mistake. Skip this place and play literally anywhere else.
We had a great time Saturday. Me and my boys played a scramble and enjoyed the course. Great local course. Friendly people.
This course is a decent one. The tee boxes were in great shape, the fairways were good, but the greens could use a little work. The course is quite expensive for an average course but it does offer a challenge. The staff were very friendly and helpful with finding hole 1 and 10. The tee box numbers are labeled clearly and there is water available all over the course.
