I used to love this park so much, I personally don’t feel safe there anymore alone with my daughter. The last three times I have been I have seen activity that was less than appropriate for a park where children and families hang out. The state park you do have to pay a few dollars but I feel much safer there.
Lots od outer rim parking. You kind of have to drive around to the back behind the bus parking area to find a parking space if crowded. The track will be clearly marked for beginning and ending.
The City Park is a local gem. Quiet and peaceful, and also beautiful and rich in nature. I love taking my dogs here as they enjoy sniffing around the nature, gawking at the ducks 🦆 in the pond and it’s a fun (in town) experience. Great little trail for exercise and exploring, there is also a ton of other stuff that I have yet to explore. A skate park, basketball court, swimming pool, etc etc. families can picnic, and there is a cool Little dog park too. It’s a great space for outdoor activities right in Lockhart.
