The Nelson Golf and Sports Club

New owners as of December 2022 - Century Golf Partners - have invested a lot of improvements. They own and manage dozens of high end resort courses across the country so they know what they are doing. New groundskeeper has turned into be fantastic. Never looked better. Ungraded fitness area, locker room, HVAC infrastructure, expand and remodel members lounge, tennis court improvements, significant upgrade to golf range, and noticeable improvements to both courses - tee boxes, paths, amenities etc have “upped the game” at this club.

Course was in absolutely great condition. The reason for the 3-stars is the service was incredibly slow and not very welcoming. Guests are not welcome in the restaurant. The range was also closed til 10am today. I think that's not the best idea during a Texas summer where everyone tries to get out early.

Paid more than $250 for a twilight round. Cart broke down and instead of immediately sending a new one they kept trying to reset it from clubhouse. Again. And again and again. Didn't work. Because it was busy I walked next hole plus. They also charge you more than $100 for rental clubs that didn't have a sand wedge (or a lob wedge) and the course has a lot of sand. A 56 is not a sand wedge! Bolted after 8 holes and they would only refund me the bad rentals.
