What people say about (The Country Club)

Jeff Couch

I gave this a middle of the road rating because I will try this course again and want to be fair in a review. But, here are my first impressions. As soon as you see the course you know they, as are a lot of courses in Spring, are waiting for their dormant fairways to come in. Very, very little grass to hit off of and even the rough is bare. Ok, early in the year golf so enough on the fairways. If it's your first time playing this course, good luck on the greens. Lots of undulations very hard to judge speed. Maybe, after 20 or 30 rounds, you might be able to get a read on the greens but if you are only playing in a tournament or once or twice with a member, you might find this place very challenging and frustrating. I played here in a tournament. I must say the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pro shop and clubhouse are very nice. Plenty of parking and the course is in a nice area. However, if I was trying to recruit new members or showcase my course I wouldn't have a hole closed or major repairs going on during the tournament. Just gives the impression they don't really care if the tournament players like it or not. Definitely doesn't make me want to join immediately. I am a decent golfer, about a 2 handicap from old man tees, lol. This course kicked my ass for sure. Maybe some of my review is based on my poor play but a lot of it is based on exactly what I had to say about condition and maybe the layout. I do want to play it again as I want to give the course a chance to show it's true self and I want to see if it's just too much of a course for me. I wouldn't say this is a must play but if you want a challenge and have lots of patience and you get a chance, maybe you will want to give it a try.

The course fairways and greens were in pretty good shape. But, for the first time playing it I found it to be difficult. Greens are fast and all of them have a high degree of undulation. The fairways too were up and down with many blind shots. I believe it might be more enjoyable the next time I play it.

Very nice. Extremely nice staff and members are very friendly. .Had an omelet before teeing off this morning and it was absolutely delicious. Nate in the Pro Shop made us feel right at home. Course is very well kept and somewhat challenging but also fun to play.Greens were in great shape and are challenging to read.
