What people say about (Pine Trace Golf Club)

Lauryn Hulett

Overall would not come again. Price was way too high for this poorly maintained course. The course is not well designed - a couple holes were too crowded, tee boxes running parallel to each other - us and another group were hitting balls into each other’s fairway. Not ideal. See pictures for the grounds themselves. Some staff were nice - the worker at the starter box was, and the one clubhouse person. $42 for 9, $15 for a rider. Also - we paid $57 in total, but were held up 5-10 min at the starter shack because they said we didn’t pay - some official was yelling aggressively over the walkie talkie to “Stop them they haven’t paid for a rider”. After all of it, they confirmed we had paid, but didn’t apologize. Seems very unorganized and not at all well kept.

Played here on May 19, 2024. This course is in shambles. Back in the day, Pine Trace was in tremendous shape...NOT anymore. The layout is enjoyable but every aspect of course conditions is deplorable. The greens seem to have some type of disease and are completely inconsistent from hole to hole as it relates to speed. Every hole has patches of dirt around the greens. WHAT A MESS...NOT WORTH PLAYING given the course conditions because there are too many other more viable options. Garbage was present at most tee boxes because there were no garbage receptacles. Disgusting. Grass was growing along with weeds in most bunkers. It is quite clear that management has given up on this course...

Golf course in my hometown. I used to play there frequently when it was owned by Rochester Hills which gave its residents a slight discount with reasonable green fees. Now, under new management, I like so many others now play there maybe once a year only to rekindle fond memories of days gone by before it finally prices itself out of existence. News flash. You lost your 4 star rating. My son in law, daughter and grandson played there over the Labor Day weekend and the starter had the audacity to ask if they paid for my 5 year old granddaughter as a rider. They said no and had to cough up another 15 dollars to have a family outing. How monetary rude. Failure is around the corner for this course unless they care for their guests at all levels.
