What people say about (Treetops Golf Club)

Thomas Dupuie

DO NOT BOOK A GOLF TRIP HERE. YOU WILL REGRET IT! Treetops was an awful experience. The golf courses were in good shape overall, but there were so many flaws with them and the overall experience. The greens are an absolute clown show mini golf style setup with pin placements in the worst spots. The carts are terrible. No GPS, no ball washers, no club washers, and go about 2 mph. There are no pictures of holes anywhere. You just have to guess with your shots and hope you hit the correct spots to have a chance at scoring. We lost a ton of strokes hitting shots we thought were perfect by what we could see only to come up and find a massive ravine, runoff back of the green, etc. Pace of play was abysmal. We had 4 tee times across Monday to Wednesday (least booked days of the week for golf tee times) that all started 10-20 minutes late because of the starter. On top of that, every single round was 5.5 hours!! No rangers moving people up and pushing people to go faster. The dining experience couldn't have been worse. Places weren't even busy, and we waited for forever for beers, food, any kind of service. One of our servers was literally high on some kind of drug. The food was awful. Flavorless, over cooked. Some food never even showed up. The rooms were okay but I expected better for a full resort stay. Clogged sinks, beds were hard, air conditioner wouldn't stay on, balcony was in terrible shape, privacy was bad as you can stand on the balcony and see directly into the rooms next to you. I would never come back to this resort for a stay, golf, food, anything! We had a great time because of the company of us 4, but Treetops was truly a disappointment. I will tell any and all golf buddies and people I play with to never consider playing there. Go literally anywhere else in Michigan, and you'll have a better time!

Great place to golf, but man, does it rain in Gaylord all the time. Four trips in five years in the month of June and it rains every single time. I know that no one can control the weather, but its hard to golf in the snow/rain belt!! Great courses though!

Beautifully kept course. The amount of work and time they put in to make sure this course is in great shape is legendary. Staff are the friendliest I’ve ever experienced at a golf resort, every one was so accommodating from the bar, starters and halfway houses. The courses are challenging but fun. For anyone looking at a yearly golf trip that’s affordable and fun, look no further than Treetops!
