What people say about (Prairie Creek Golf Course and Banquet Center open weather permitting)

Fantastic course. Absolutely zero complaints. From the layout to the course conditions to the staff - no issues whatsoever. A few of the tee boxes were a little rough, but it was early May so I’d expect that to change by summer. I am very excited to play this course again!

The owner is a rude jerk. Had a 3:28 tee time with my brother. I get there at about 2:45 to hit the range before hand. My brother shows up shortly after me and he pays for his round of golf before joining me on the range. I go back to the clubhouse to pay for myself while he finishes up the bucket. As I’m paying, the employee tells me two groups just went off the front, and if we wanted to get out early we could go off the back. We still had 10-15 minutes before our tee time and the place is dead. I tell him we have a few more balls left at the range but will do that once we’re done. I go back to the range to get my brother then we head to the #10 tee box. As we’re riding over there, we see a group on the 9th green but assumed they were only playing 9 since we were told we could go off the back. We get to the #10 tee box and before we can get out of our cart this guy comes up behind us and is very confrontational, asking if we usually cut in front of people at the turn. He’s by himself so he clearly left his group and rushed over to confront us. We tell him we didn’t know they were making the turn plus we were told we could go off the back. The guy is still very rude and throwing a temper tantrum like a child. He says he’s gonna call (whatever employee at the clubhouse) and pulls out his phone. I tell him that they can go in front of us. To which he responds “oh yeah we’re gonna go before you guys!” As he’s calling the clubhouse and angrily muttering to himself he mentions he’s the owner. We first thought he was a random guy throwing a fit over a small inconvenience. But to learn that he was the owner and to be so rude and confrontational to paying customers was shocking. As he’s yelling at his employee on the phone over the tiny mistake, we turn around and head back to the clubhouse. We apologize to the employee for getting him in trouble then tee off on the front. We won’t be back. There are much nicer courses that are in the same price range.

My brother and I had a tee time today and the young guy in the pro shop tells us that two groups just went off the front 9 so we could go off the back. We were fine with this and appreciated him looking out for us. What we didn’t appreciate was the owner pulling up behind us at #10 and acting like a total jerk because apparently his group was on hole 9 and going to make the turn. We pulled up to number 10 and within a minute a single rider comes up behind us and asks if we “usually cut in front of people making the turn”. (It appears he left his group back at the club house to come confront us). We explain what the pro shop guy told us and he pulls out his phone and starts making a call while he’s throwing a hissy fit. He then mutters that he’s the owner before he starts yelling at his young employee. My brother even offered for his group to go ahead of us to which he rudely replied “ we are going before you guys.” While he continues to throw his tantrum my brother and I just drive off to hole 1 to tee off. The owners whole attitude was rude and he acted like my brother and I personally wronged him when it was just a simple mix up by his own employee with an easy fix. The whole experience was very immature. The owner seems to want the course for his own personal use and paying customers don’t matter and that’s how he treats them. I spend quite a bit of money on golf in this area and Prairie Creek will no longer be getting any more from me. The owner is horrible to paying customers and his employees. Spend your hard earned money at a better managed course where they understand the importance of customer service.
