What people say about (Bardmoor Golf & Tennis Club)

Zachary Valind

Play here on a regular basis. Always packed and backed up… Decided to play again because for once it wasn’t grossly over priced. $62 Show up 20 minutes early, and they dont have any carts ready. So i go inside and check in. Come out watch them give carts to 2 singles for tee times after mine. They again dont have any carts now, and proceed to tell me “they are regulars and here every day”. We wait another 15 minutes for a cart and are now behind our tee time. Get up to the tee box and have 3 parties of 4 ahead of us. All of who’m are “regulars” again we are told. Then proceeded to wait 15-25 minutes per a hole behind said “regulars”. 2 1/2 hours later, we called it on hole 5… Shame on me for being dumb enough to play here regularly everyone knows how poorly managed it is. My fault.

This place has really gone downhill. People on the course play whatever hole they want at any given time. On 3 separate occasions different groups jumped on a hole in front of me creating extremely slow play. This wasn’t a result of us causing slow play. We were waiting on groups in front of us so when they jumped in front of us it caused a 15+ minute wait before our next tee shot. When the club house was informed about the first one they didn’t do anything other than offer a rain check and that I could leave for the day. Why should I have to take a rain check when they could easily police the idiots on the course? Seems like the most inconsiderate solution a golf course could offer. Probably have played there over 100 times over the years but unfortunately this one will be the last. I’ve played a ton of courses in my life and have never experienced so many clueless and disrespectful players on a course

Through their Player Development Program, we have experienced an excellent season of golf at this great club. The PDP costs $80/$40 a month for player and spouse (minimum of two months). This provides you with unlimited balls on their excellent (and long!) grass driving range, and option to play afternoon and twilight at $45 and $15/$10! Now the course - well laid out, challenging holes peppered with water hazards. Right length for all golfers. I played from the silver as the forward tees were too short for this woman. Greens were well maintained; some days fast depending whether they were cut and rolled, and predictably slower in late afternoon. Rounds will vary from 3:45 (during rain) to 5:30 hours. Every round capped by beer in the lounge where popcorn is free, first draft beer is $2.50 and atmosphere so welcoming! We hope to come back again next season and play lay the PDP again at Bardmoor. Well worth the money for this beautiful course.
