Had a good experience last Sunday. Carlos at the front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly to me which is why I am writing this review. He opened the front door for me and helped me with my tee time booking when I couldn’t find it. We had a great conversation about my time in the military, and he also helped me out with my questions about their membership. Even while dealing other customers, he took the time to have a pleasant conversation with me and help me out. You could tell he’s a smart, good kid who really cares. It's refreshing to encounter such genuine hospitality and customer service nowadays. His service was so outstanding that I gave him a 20 dollar tip. Well deserved! The older lady Maria and older gentleman Mike are also very nice to me in the pro shop whenever I see them. Really impressed with the new bar and proshop, after years of construction they came out great. The blonde girls at the bar Sofia and Karen were very kind to me aswell and the food was good. Great addition to the facility! The new driving range is also a nice upgrade with the new golf trackers they added, though I did notice the range ball prices have gone up significantly and you get way fewer balls now. The trackers are a cool feature, but honestly it doesn't justify the price increase for less balls. You can tell the place is getting busier because of the new pro shop, it's definitely drawing more people in. Unfortunately, the outside staff are quite inattentive. Justin the starter, was on his phone the whole time which was pretty unprofessional and disappointing, I get he's a young kid but he just didn’t care when we were talking to him. The asian guy usually does a better job because he is stricter. The course gets backed up all the time because the starter doesn't pay attention or manage the flow of play. The carts are dirty and I've found trash in them sometimes like empty beer cans. Often the staff just sit in carts instead of coming up to actually help customers. On a positive note, the cart girls are really nice and have alot of drinks especially considering how super hot it is outside. I have mixed feelings about the collared shirt requirement. On one hand, I apprecate that it makes the course feel more professional and I can see that Miccosukkee Golf is trying to improve their image. On the other hand, sometimes you just want a more relaxed golf experience without worrying about the dress code. The facility upgrades show they're heading in the right direction, overall great staff, hopefully they hire new outdoor staff that actually do their job. But still a decent experience overall and I'd highly recommend this course to anyone in the area.
This place excels at driving away the common golfer by pricing them out of the game. I used to practice at this range all the time because bucket prices were affordable and the atmosphere was laid back. Now, because they made renovations to their club by adding shot trackers to their range, they doubled the price for practice buckets. I can see why adding a shot tracker would justify a price increase, but I've gone twice in the past month and the trackers weren't even powered on. To add insult to injury, they made it mandatory to wear formal golf attire even if you're not playing the course because they want to elevate their image as a golf club. If you like dressing nice to overpay for a state-of-the-art range session that provides absolutely no feedback, then buy a membership here right now!
Played Tuesday Feb 18, 2025 @ 10:30AM for $54.99 (barracuda-dolphin) + course pace was great, we were able to finish under 4hours. + course layout was good, very open. + greens were in good shape - club house could use a proper change room (just a minor thing) - bunkers need to be top off or given a good proper shake. Giving a high rating considering the price.
