What people say about (Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne)

Anurag Harsh

My son and I had the pleasure of playing an 18-hole round at Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the moment we teed off, we knew we were in for something special. The course is spectacular — lush fairways framed by palm trees, sparkling water hazards, and breathtaking vistas of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. Every hole offered something unique, with just the right mix of challenge and playability to keep things interesting for both seasoned golfers and casual players. Several holes had us thinking strategically, with water coming into play and tight approaches that made us appreciate the course design even more. We grabbed delicious sandwiches after the 9th hole and enjoyed a quick break before heading back out. The back nine kept the momentum going with more fun and scenic holes, and we genuinely had a blast. It was quality father-son time in one of the most beautiful golf settings we’ve ever played. The staff was welcoming, the course was in excellent condition, and the overall vibe was relaxed yet classy. If you’re in the Miami area and looking for a world-class public course that offers challenge, beauty, and fun — Crandon Golf is an absolute must-play.

10/12/2022: Although some are still with patches of weeds, the greens are getting much better with good speed. The greens are hard so it's better to have high approach shots to ensure they stay on. It's a tough and long course. 07/27/2022: It's a fun and challenging course with views of Key Biscayne. There are some forced longs and strategic dogleg shots. The greens are small with very good speed and plenty of undulations. The fairways are the worst parts of the course since they are very rough and yellowish, probably due to a recent punch. Luckily, we didn't see a mosquito issue as other reviewers mentioned and the staff treated us well. With a $110 price tag during the summer, I think it's very overprice given its overall conditions and no complimentary of the range. There are much better courses in S Florida with reasonable green fees. I would come back to play it if I can get a better green fee before the summer ends.

Course is mid tier at best. Not worth a penny over $75, even during peak season. $200+ for this course during season is honestly comical. Fairways are atrocious. Rough is absolute dog water. The views aren’t anything special either for the location of the course. Not one true golf on the course - which makes the pace of play slower than a turtle. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere and play a nicer course. One positive is the greens are actually nice.
