Campus Commons Golf Course

Excellent golf experience! Let’s start with the friendly staff. They are laid back, kind, and engaging. They are willing to answer questions and are nice about it. Not snotty or pretentious. The course itself is a lovely walk along the river, with trees and well maintained greens. A few trees offer some shade, but it’s pretty open. Several longer holes give this par 3 course enough challenge to keep if fun and challenging time after time. It’s my new favorite short course and I highly recommend it for anyone. It’s especially good for new golfers and families with children who want to learn golf. If you’re a serious, uptight golfer, this course may not be your favorite.

After the renovation the course is interesting enough to be fun for better golfers while the short length and layout keep it playable for newer golfers as well. Greens were rolling great and I like the design choice to make contouring the primary form of protection with no sand on the course which should make it easier to maintain & also keep pace of play up. Nice playing right along the river. Will definitely be back for some twilight rounds or quick 9s and I’m excited to have this place so close to home. As far as stuff to fix the first thing that jumped out to me and others in my group was the lack of trash cans on the course- not having anywhere to toss cans or food wrappers throughout the whole route is a little annoying, especially when you’re walking. Having some divot mix on the tee boxes would also be a great idea. With how short all of these holes are my main concern would be the tee boxes getting torn up- whatever grass they are seeded with did seem pretty durable but bad tee surfaces can make a par 3 course a lot less fun very fast.

Incredible new course along the American River. Par will be a great score and will test every golfer. Holes 3, 5, 6, & 7 are great holes. Greens are excellent. This just became the best short course in Sacramento!
