I wanna start off by saying I rarely leave a bad review. Started off having an amazing round got to hole 14 where this group of four walkers were ahead of us going extremely slow. Very old guys. I yelled at them twice to let us pass. They obviously did not hear me. They saw us on the Teebox multiple times behind them. When we got back to the clubhouse, the worst part is I said hey you guys are going extremely slow. You should get a cart next time. Maybe we shouldn’t have said anything to them. But after that happened, one of the guys David, who is an employee there. Proceeded to cuss at us. And then get in our face. We then brought this to the clubhouse and told the manager. He said it was our fault for talking first and he said he didn’t hear David cuss or didn’t see David getting in our face. Which is highly unprofessional for a manager. David continued to lie inside the clubhouse and said we called them old farts. He said we had gotten in their face another lie we told the manager to look at the cameras to prove that he had gotten in our face and said that they don’t have cameras. We then went outside as I had had enough of this at this point another manager had to come out to us and was being pretty reasonable saying that he understands our side as well. David then came outside and shook our hands and apologized. Then proceeded to say, if we hadn’t gotten into his face, he wouldn’t have done. Again, I want to say he got in our face and in our cart to check our pace of play.. Again, maybe nothing should’ve been said, but we were very kind from the beginning. And David proceeded to escalate the situation while the entire time the manager backed him and discredit what we said. There were multiple times we were on the tee box behind them and they should’ve told us to go in front of them because they were going so slow slowly and we had to wait in the rain because them. I’ve never had a poor experience at Horton Smith before. But this takes the cake more than anything. Before we left, David said If the manager has a problem with the way, he acts then the manager can handle it, which the manager did not do….
