Deer Lake Golf Course

Course is in pretty poor shape right now. But the track is pretty good. Some really challenging holes and the pins could be put in some hard spots to hit. For the price this course is a great place to play. Love going under the interstate to play on the back side.

Me and my friends (beginner golfers) elected to play 9 holes at this establishment today. Upon arrival it was clear that the course was over booked and every hole was extremely backed up. Due to some members of the party being newer to the game of golf we were playing slightly slower and we allowed 3 parties to pass by us before we made it to the second hole in order to not effect their experience. Shortly after we teed off on the third hole we were approached by a short chubby man claiming to be the head groundskeeper. Without warning he immediately got directly beside us and started yelling at us saying we were holding up his entire course and a few other minor things such as not driving in the fairway on a par 3 which is understandable for newer golfers to not know. He proceeded to stand beside us for a few minutes yelling about golf etiquette and was no more than 2 feet from me and my party. He also claimed that a member of his party was in charge of the establishment. After this encounter we began driving away and he stood there screaming at us which he did several times while we were simply trying to drive. Overall this was handled extremely immaturely and unprofessional and is a bad look for the company and the course. As someone who appeared to take so much pride in his course that he felt the need to scream at a party on the third hole the course is extremely poorly maintained with large pot holes on the cart path, cheap fixes, poor quality grass, poorly maintained water hazards and sand traps, uneven fairways with large gopher holes and other issues. Overall this course is poorly maintained and very poorly staffed.

Personally I have never been to this location but when I called to get more information about job postings the company has and a front desk attendant named CONNOR answered the phone and couldn’t give me information. He let me know he didn’t have a supervisor but then proceeded to give me the supervisor’s names. Very poor training from what I can tell and I can only imagine what the services are like if this is how the front desk attendant’s phone etiquette is.
