What people say about (Club Champion)

Thanh Koontz

I had a great experience working with Nick Atwood. I would highly recommend getting a club fitting with him. He was patient and knowledgeable as I am a fairly novice player. He set me up with a great set of irons and a driver. He gave me great tips during our sessions and I am looking forward to getting my clubs and testing them out!

Now that I have the 1 shaft I bought which wasn't totally overpriced, I will leave a review. I will say the selection of clubs and knowledge of the fitters is good (as expected for a fitting store) HOWEVER, their upcharge and pricing is 100% trash. I golf quite a bit and have changed my fair share of equipment. For just irons shafts, not even new irons, they quoted me $1600 just in parts (160 per shaft). That is a $100 upcharge per shaft and that didn't include the grips or the SST Puring. These are steel shafts not even new graphites. What's worse is they stood behind this saying this was the normal price for them (KBS S-Tapers) re alistically you can buy these shafts raw for about $60-64/each, then spend another $100-115 for all grips, then another $200ish for labor to have them cut and built. An entire new iron shaft set should cost around $900-1200. To add insult to injury, when I stated I could buy directly from the manufacturer new irons with these shafts for about the same price I was told "those aren't the real shafts, we get the directly from the manufacturers". I don't even know what that means unless he was insinuating TaylorMade gets shafts from Temu or something. Now I understand it's a business and service and they need to make a profit but that is entirely outrageous and a ripoff to people who don't know better. Heres what I'll say...go there, get your fitting done, get the spec sheets for what equipment you settle on, and buy elsewhere. Purchasing anything through them is a bigger waste of money then even our government can compete with. I give 2 stars because they did have equipment (1) variety, and decently knowledgeable fitters (2), though they're pushed to be more salesman since they're paid on commission and interviewed as such. For perspective, I gave the proposed building sheet to Golf MD, and they’re more knowledgeable with the same equipment, but they quoted me a little over $700 for the same build and specs 😁

Outstanding experience. I've been golfing for almost 3 years now and this was my first time for a fitting. Nick was my fitter. Truly can't give enough praise for how he went about the process. The way he communicated throughout the entire process felt like a good friend who is genuinely wanting the best for you to achieve the right shaft, head, grip so that you can feel confident in your swing and game. Without hesitation, I will recommend to anyone that Nick be your fitter. 10/10
