What people say about (Lake of The Woods Golf Club)

I have played here for years. It used to be the most inviting atmosphere in the area, true southern hospitality.... Today's experience will make me think twice about ever coming back. As i stand in 16 fw, starter comes out of nowhere flying up behind me in a cart, yelling and screaming at me and my partner to stop playing. It was 6:20 PM (we teed at 240 and proceeded to sit behind a hacker foursome ahead of a tournament...so it was slow play all day). I hit my shot while this crazy person carried on behind me. After my shot the kid yells at me to get off the course. "You are supposed to have carts back by 620"...is the gist of what i heard from him as he frantically jumps out of the cart yelling hysterically pointing at the ball ordering us to pick up the ball.. this set me off. I will not be spoken to like that, no human being should be spoken to this way, especially in the back swing of a player coming down the stretch. "No one told me that" i said, the sun sets at 7:15 PM, how would i know carts are to be in by 620?? the kid proceeded to call me a liar, and wouldn't even let us chip and putt to finish the hole....i asked for the manager...Mark i think his name was. Convenient, bc Mark was not far, driving down the cart path.... i started to speak to him and he just yelled the same before i could even get a word out....shaking his head and pointing to the club house, "no one told us to be in by 620, why are treating us like this?". He ALSO called me a liar, by saying " so and so in the pro shop definitely told you that..." etc...guys...i truly was not told that, if it was written on a board somewhere, i missed it. Ive played here later in the afternoons several times in the past, and always treated with dignity. I will not be treated that way, on a golf course or anywhere for that matter. I'll take my money elsewhere from now on.

Excellent semi-private golf course for the money. Guests of Lake of the Woods can play unaccompanied by LOWA members. The bar/restaurant is called Fareways. I love this place. The prices were frozen at some point in the '80s. Check out the picture of the menu. You can rent golf clubs for $20 and play 18 holes for $55 including the cart. Kids 18 and under play free. You can also rent clubs for kids for free if they have availability. I don't know anything like that in year 2022.

Very rude staff who continued to approach us on the course just to argue and again in the parking lot preventing us from leaving. Worst golfing experience i have ever had at the complete fault of the staff especially Carolyn. Avoid this course unless you would like to deal with rude staff, be interrupted during your round, and play at a entirely overbooked course
