What people say about (Old Hickory Golf Club LLC)

Noah Taylor

Summary: Maintenance worker turned sprinklers on with our balls on the green, bunkers unplayable, bad conditions overall. Better courses for the same price. I used to love this course. It has a great layout and forces some interesting shots. For the new high prices, however, it leaves a lot to be desired. For $100, I would expect to at least be able to play the bunkers. They were rock hard, and every bunker had a puddle in it - despite not having rained since Friday; and Saturday and Sunday being 100°. There should be no reason they aren’t drained by Sunday afternoon, if the course had proper sand. One of the most frustrating things, however, was the maintenance worker turning the sprinklers when our balls were on the green. He had his son with him so my group did not say anything to him, but we were shocked at the lack of awareness shown by an employee of the course. This is completely unacceptable for a $100 round. You can at least water in between groups as there was space between us and the group behind. It was obvious that the worker just wanted to check it off his list and had no intention of waiting for a more appropriate time. I hope the course returns to what it was once, but I won’t be returning this season.

Old Hickory Golf Club made our daughter’s Quinceañera unforgettable! Michelle’s pro planning & Robin’s warm care shone, even saving our cake mishap 🎂. Drinks flowed, vibes soared! Course conditions vary—burnt greens & goose mess disappoint 🏞️—but stellar staff & fun layout make it a win! …

For the time we played the course and the price I paid (57.50), I am giving it a good rating. I understand why people were upset but honestly I didn’t have much complaints other than hitting out of rock one time on the fairway. Greens were maintained and bunkers were well placed and also a couple looked fun to hit out of. Fairways were a bit patchy and tee boxes looked a little rough. Playing from the back was a really tough challenge but will revisit when I get a little better. The only major complaint I had was how hard it was to find the driving range and how it’s poorly maintained but I do like how narrow the shots have to be on the driving range as it mocks the course on many tee shots. Also one more thing to mention is how beautiful the course looks in the fall.
