What people say about (Cascades Golf Course at The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa)

Patrick Filanowski

I had a truly first-class experience playing the Cascades course. From the moment I arrived the staff was welcoming, attentive, and friendly, setting the tone for a great round. The course was in outstanding condition. Beautifully maintained fairways, smooth/fast greens, and stunning scenery throughout. The layout was fun and challenging, with just the right mix of holes to keep things interesting. I can easily see why this course is rated so highly. I was able to enjoy 18 holes in just 2 hours and 30 minutes during the afternoon. Highly recommend!

Don't pay the price they want. DON'T PAY IT!!! Even if you're a Sam Snead fanatic this course, with it's history is worth around $100. Fairways and greens were in mostly great condition. A few bad spots on 3 greens. Layout is great. First 9 holes are more mountain style. Last 9 is more links style. I found Cascades much easier then Old Course becasue of the openness on the last 9. Only the first 9 have tee markers. I didn't see that you have to make a u turn at the halfway house becasue there were zero routing signs or tee markers. I had to drive to the valley area and drive backwards to find 10 tee and it was literally 20 feet from where I started, just behind me. Wanted to shower afterwards, no hot water. They did have towels, which was good. The toilets did have just enough left on the roll for me, good for me but not for next guy. Staff was great Shuttle driver was great. From.the second I arrived at old course pro shop needing a shuttle until I got back to resort after the round I couldn't ask for better staff. Pace of play is no problem becasue they charge so much nobody plays here. When I got to hole 12 there was only myself in sight.

Sam Snead helped design and build this masterpiece and while it is a very frustrating track it will awe you with it's seamless interaction with the mountain landscape. Top 25 and one of the best mountain courses around! Great caddy's and you will need them to read very tricky putts!
