Sad to have had a bad experience here. Note that this was about 3-4 years ago. I sat in the empty waiting room for an extensive amount of time, then was handed paperwork less than five minutes before being called back. I rushed through the papers. When the doctor put one needle in each of my wrists, my right side throbbed terribly from the start. He said it would get better, then left me alone for about a half hour. When he returned I told him it hurt worse than before, but he left it in, then gave me an additional needle in my head “for my nerves” so I’d calm down. It felt rather condescending. I was stressed because I was in pain, and it didn’t feel right. He left me alone again for about another half hour before removing all the needles at the end of the session. Unfortunately the extended use of the painful needle in my right wrist caused nerve damage. I had pins and needles in my right hand for weeks that were sharp and debilitating. As a piano player, this was devastating. I spent many nights crying, but refused to return to the clinic, as I felt I hadn’t been listened to before—so why return when the damage could be deepened? It took months and me going to a different acupuncturist down in Salt Lake consistently to reverse the damage. I love acupuncture now, but this appointment was my first intro to the world of acupuncture, and I didn’t understand the dangers of keeping needles in that are causing pain. The nerve damage can be irreversible—and it took a long time for me to heal, but I’m glad I did. I share this in the hopes that Doctor Lindsey will learn from my misfortune. It was a rushed day, I was a new client, and I paid the price for it. For that reason, I would not suggest this place. Please take the pain of needles that are not sitting right on the nerve seriously.
