What people say about (Al's Sporting Goods)

Chris Kowalski

I took my daughter here to get her a compound bow and the archery department, specifically Luke, was excellent! He helped with the buying process and unfortunately my daughter dry fired the bow and the cables and cams were all messed up. I took it in immediately and he fixed it on the spot! Excellent service, highly recommend.

I drew out for an archery big bull tag last year so went in to get an upgraded bow as mine was a very old diamond . Luke assisted me and started by measuring my arms and then showed me the bows within that draw length. I shot a few bows and felt uncomfortable but the bows were a lot smoother than my Old diamond. I was informed it would take me time to get used to the new bow and ended up purchasing a prime. I went out back and practiced all the time to prepare for my hunt and the bow still didn’t feel right but I was shooting accurately enough to kill a bull so I continued to tell myself I just need to get used to it. Fast forward to this past month I was letting a friend know that my Bow just does not feel right and demonstrated what it does. . . I was told to go back to Al’s and see another associate as it sounded like my bow was too long of a draw length. I went in and Tate Anderson assisted me and immediately said that my draw length was too long. He went to adjust it for me and come to find out 26 is the shortest the bow would go. I shot a new hoyt with a 25 inch draw length and it was PERFECT in every way! I’m posting this because I was told that another woman also had the same issue but her bow was able to go shorter but Luke had set it up for her and set the entire thing up too long of a draw length. She got lucky cause her bow would allow the adjustment and I’m not so lucky! I am out lots of money and it’s frustrating. I was not properly fit for the bow and bows that were too long were the only Ones I was able to shoot so I really Didn’t know any better and trusted Luke thinking he knew more than I . I appreciated Tate and the time he took assisting me and apologizing for someone else’s mistake.

Good store, I’ve been shopping here for over a decade and have had no issues whatsoever. I do wish they would have better prices on ammo. It is consistently 10% higher than the surrounding stores.
