What people say about (The Ranches Golf Club)

G Parry (GParry)

Went to check out the club and go hit a few balls at the range, they didn’t tell me until AFTER I purchased a couple buckets of balls, it’s a very short range so you cannot use your driver…. And it’s a bit of a walk. 1) I have never heard of a driving range not letting you use your driver.. 2) the mats that you hit off of are all ripped up. Looks like they haven’t been replaced since they were purchased. 3) To get to the range you have to walk very far down a steep slope to get to it.. if you are older this could be dangerous or too hard for you. 4) just pulling up I had no idea where the club house was. They have signs for a place to eat and for a gym to exercise but literally nothing for the actual golf club. 5) also they didn’t have flag cups for the putting green to easily get your golf balls out of the cups - the green was in really rough shape, I can’t imagine what it will look like as it gets later into the summer. Very unfortunate really.

I want to clarify that this review comes 1 week after my tee time, just so that I can give it an honest review... which is: This course is not the best. Horrible greens, horrible tee boxes, horrible carts, literally everything was horrible. The tee boxes are in terrible condition, with divots everywhere, dead patches everywhere. The greens had divots in them, did not roll pure at all. The cart that I was in was extremely sub par. The cart kept squeaking everywhere, it seemed like there were loose bolts on the frame, and there was also no tread on any of the tires for some reason. ??? The clubhouse was ??? It was dim, and dark on the inside, with a musty smell?? Not really sure why? The final kicker is the price. For $34.53 for 9 holes, I expected better, which I think is more than a reasonable ask. I cannot imagine spending, $69.06 on 18 holes for a course in this condition. I truthfully, would rather not golf at all than golf here. The only reason why it's two stars is because they give free tees and free divot fixers. It really sucks to rate a course like this, I drove by this course last year and really wanted to try it out because it looked so pure, but didn't get to until this year. Hopefully management can figure this course out because the layout is super challenging and fun, but the conditions just are not it.

Love the membership. I had some issues last year with it but they seemed to resolve them. I love this course. It's challenging yet playable for everyone. They are constantly making improvements and they listen to their members. Updated my rating as I've fallen in love with the course.
