We had our wedding reception here & it was the best experience! Leigh is awesome to work with and the club house is so beautiful it took minimal decorations to make it wedding ready. Highly recommend having your events here!
Went to split rail On Saturday with a group of friends after seeing the photos posted on Facebook. These photos portray nothing but complete falsities! When walking into the Pro Shop it seems as though it will be a very nice course, that is where it ends! First of all the course charges $70!! There is no military or first responder discount nor any discount for the course being in absolute disrepair!! The front 9 is almost UNPLAYABLE due to how heavily the fairways have been torn up by tractors and most are impassible due to the mud mounds and dirt piles. The fact that this course is still charging $70 is beyond me! I am so glad that we did not spend an additional dime in the pro shop as we were absolutely taken to the cleaners on the green fees! I will say again DO NOT GO PLAY THIS COURSE!! THE GREEN FEES SHOULD BE $35 TOPS FOR THE CONDITION IT IS IN! **Edited to add the singular photo I took of this horrendous experience. Also to add the Golf course only seems to reply to those that leave a 5 star review of the facilites such as pro shop. They seem to be just fine to take your $70 and move on.
I had friends come in from out of state for a weekend of golf. I called Split Rail a week before we played and asked how the course was looking, if they had recently aerated the greens or fairways, anything that would deter from the course being in good shape. I was told, no, the course was in great shape. I booked a tee time for 4. When we arrived they told us that Hole 10 had some work going on and they have shortened the normal par 4 to a 150yd par 3. Not a huge in convince but something that should have been relayed to me on the phone I think, you know, that one of your holes is in such distress that it is basically closed off. Then we got to the course and what a shamble of a golf course this place is now. Every hole on the front 9 had large areas where I don't if they plowed it or if they took large patches of earth out but it is basically unplayable. Large swaths of fairways are just soft dirt, forget about any kind of normal play. Multiple shots down the fairway end up plugged in mud. On the back nine, maybe 4 holes were playable as normal. The greens were half ok. But most of them had dead areas also. The fact that no one on the phone told me about this before booking is horrible. The fact that when we played our outrageous green fee of $73, no one told us is just unfathomable. I would not play here again until you hear it from friends that it is playable because the pro shop will wholeheartedly lie to you that the course is playable. The first picture is from the middle of a fairway, just about all of them are like this, large dirt/mud areas. This drive was in the mud and had to be removed to play it. The second pic is the crap you have to walk thru to get to this par 3 green. The green was surrounded by dirt like this.
