What people say about (River Plantation Golf Club)

6/19/25 8am tee time, started on hole 10 bc they were grinding trees down. Didn’t expect them to follow up half our holes so the loud noise was much appreciated. Then on 2 we were playing our approach shots and the guy just comes and cuts a new hole mid swing like what?! Overall 1-3/9-11 holes look great but rest of the course the fairways need cut and greens look better then the past no sand. Bunkers aren’t playable and tee boxes decent. If the price was $30-40 I would come back but $50-60 bucks I’ll go elsewhere. It’s getting better but still needs work. Maybe next time I’ll ask if they would be grinding down trees during our tee times.

The only good thing about this course is the clubhouse. And that’s still nothing special. Was forewarned about the green conditions, but still was not expecting them to be as bad as they were. Fairways were OK and tee boxes weren’t anything special either. Playing as a foursome we were approached early in the round by the Marshall to allow another foursome of members to jump ahead of us. Later in the round we were approached again by the Marshall telling us to pick up the pace of play. We played a four hour round of golf and that’s with letting one foursome group and a twosome group jump ahead of us along with the slow cart girls that also don’t sell liquor on the course which is something I’ve never heard of before.

I paid $74 for a round of golf and a small bucket of balls, but unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing golf course experiences I’ve had. The greens were covered in weeds, and it was difficult to predict where the ball would end up. Many of the putting surfaces were either full of weeds or just bare dirt/mud. The bunkers looked neglected, as if they hadn’t been maintained in weeks. Additionally, the fairways had visible ruts and signs of hog damage. I had high hopes, but sadly, the course didn’t meet expectations.
