What people say about (The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch)

Isaac Sharief

Pros: Fairways and tee boxes were in good condition for this point in the season. Layout was nice, hard to find a flat surface, each hole was a new challenge. Practice green and driving range was nice. Staff was helpful and kind. Cons: Some of the greens needed some work, I understand it is early in the season but for $73 you cannot have bumps and sand on the greens. Pro shop staff was nice, but the cart person just rode past us with a nasty look on her face and didn’t even stop to ask us if we wanted something. I would have given 5 stars if not for this.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at Cinco Ranch Golf Course was frustrating enough to speak up. This place is all about making money, not providing a quality golf experience. First off, the course is in nowhere near decent shape to justify a $75 fee. Fairways are patchy, greens are inconsistent, and overall upkeep feels like an afterthought. Yet they’re charging like it’s a premium course. Even worse, I came out to practice putting and chipping—which, inconveniently, is located on the complete opposite end of the clubhouse. I was told to walk through the driving range to get there and was nearly hit multiple times. When I asked the course marshal if the shuttle could drop me off (keep in mind it was over 100 degrees outside), his exact words were: “If you ain’t spending money I ain’t bringing you. You can walk.” Seriously? That kind of attitude says everything you need to know about how this course is run. Spend your money somewhere that actually values golfers and basic customer service. I won’t be back.

I’ve been taking lessons with Brian Ward at Cinco Ranch. This is a great facility. The course looks great. The practice areas are wonderful. Brian is a great instructor. He pays attention to many details, he is pleasant, patient, and explains himself very well. I have made significant improvements in just 2 lessons. Updated: I finally made it out to play here with the Spark golf group. I did a warm up practice at the range. This place was hopping busy! Lots of folks practicing. The range was very large. I played the back 9 with the group and I must say the course was very enjoyable. The course was in very good shape. The layout was challenging and enjoyable. I will be back with the group and hopefully a few times on my own.
