What people say about (Apple Rock Golf Course)

OMG. Absolutely the most stunning course I have seen. Played June 11 at twilight time From the cashier to the cart assistants everything was top notch. Being from a mostly flat Houston area I was not prepared for the constant climbs. Some of the highest tee boxes I've seen at estimated at 25-30;degrees. I'll have to go back and play the back 9 as it was getting late and the hiking was wearing me down. Hole 10 was stunning. One of the cart assistants took me since it wasn't very far and I already repaired had my clubs neatly tucked away in my trunk. I'll share the pic and. ill try to see if it's cart path only Friday after the next two rainfall. Definitely will be back but maybe when the cooler temperatures set in.

Great course conditions. Some tee boxes were a bit uneven but despite the drought, conditions were generally very good. Unfortunately, Apple Rock is a very penal course that is not congruent with other resort courses. Pin locations on 4 and 9 were tucked on the edge of slopes that left a lot of 3 putts. Tee time should be pace further apart if hole locations are this challenging. With narrow tree lined fairways and side slopes all over the place we are backed up. Several foursomes out with twosomes behind makes for an excruciating pace of wait and then watch all the while feeling pressures from behind. Not a course if you don't have your swing or if you are beginner. Go to Slick Rock instead or play a course more friendly for visitors. To cap off our round, I tweaked my leg hitting a shot on 18 and we had staff take our golf cart in the lot forcing me to walk on a pulled groin up the hill to the pro shop and bathrooms. I would have appreciated a heads up before booking our stay and play that Apple is nearly as challenging as Ram Rock and not the best first round. FYI, on Wednesdays the grass range is closed for maintenance. They have excellent mats but it's a bit narrow for hitting drives off a rubber tee. I am a single digit cap who lost a total of 2 balls playing in the Austin area this week, but I lost 10(!!) balls on Apple.

It was my first time playing here, on a shiny Sunday of February, and the course is beautiful!! 👍⛳️ It was not easy course for me but my 1hour driving to get there was absolutely worth it. I enjoyed the nice weather, wonderful river and hill views, and my playing here even the scores are not lovely. 😉 …
