A really nice course. It has some very unique features and some of the greens are almost “too” undulating to a point where it’s putt-putt golf. But aside from those and if you put your ball on the right tier you can still score good. My buddy shot a 79 on his first round here. We won’t talk about my score. Lol. They have an excellent active duty/military retiree rate, too! PS I don’t know how the houses in this course have any windows. They are at EXACTLY the worst locations almost like they are daring you to hit them. Once you play here, you’ll see what I mean.
We’re just having horrible weather. The course is in great shape. The greens were fantastic. Really enjoyed the course.
#1 Public course I can recommend. I don’t play the same course twice 98% of the time because I like to see them all. Not many places I haven’t played in North or South Central Texas. Vaaler is just special. If you like championship style golf courses where you don’t have to worry about pace of play, while also only being able to see one hole at a time - this is a great spot to check out. Price wise it’s on the higher end but the course makes it worth it. Perfect course maintenance, modern carts, a friendly starter, and overall beautiful hill country background. Have fun with the beach-sized bunkers and monster play from the tips. Have to recommend 18 here if you have the chance.
