What people say about (Forest Creek Golf Club)

Greg Moore

Forest Creek Golf Club is a special place. Every aspect of golf is included here. The course is challenging, but not overwhelming The staff welcomes you like an old golf buddy and the people who golf here are friendly. I met two guys who had paid memberships at another popular course, but drove a little further to play Forest Creek GC because they manage the number of golfers on the course much better here so the experience is much more enjoyable. Their practice facilities are my favorite. They have a dedicated pitching area from 30 yds out, an enormous undulating putting green which is so challenging that I can practice my putting for two hours and not get bored Their beautiful driving range is bordered by a thick forest. It is a public course so they use artificial turf mats. Out of all the courses in the North Austin area, I chose Forest Creek GC's Junior Academy as the place to begin my grandson's formal golf training. He loved the coaching staff and Coach Josh in particular. It is a lush green course during the spring time. During the hot summer months, it is my favorite place to golf during the twilight hours. I choose a day where it is 99° and falling at 5 pm. It is a peaceful place with a literal forest of trees to provide shade throughout the round. The pro shop is well supplied and the cafe is outstanding. The food is VERY good and there are lots of delicious options. I always eat there before or after putting practice and a round of golf.

I booked a 1:50 tee time today and was concerned with finishing and the time was just a bit cheaper just for that reason. They put a nice guy with my twosome and we got done. Waited on some shots for sure but that’s to be expected. Greens fury but great shape for Feb. the staff was friendly and the beverage cart person was out and about. You might want to play it up in the fairway this time of year if you aren’t a great ball striker but there is grass everywhere. My only concern not worth a star at all was the amount of sand in the green-side bunkers. I hit three and got two fried eggs and one plug. The sand is just a bit too deep but the fairway bunkers are correct in my opinion. Great job in the winter Forest Creek. And just be better than me and stay out of the bunkers:)

The course is nice, but I had 8 lawn mowers and tractors accompanying me on literally 2/3's of the holes. I payed about $100 to play this course and got out early to play quickly. I've now been sitting at the 15th tee for 30 minutes as I refuse to play another hole surrounded by lawn equipment. It's absolutely ridiculous. Would not recommend this course.
