What people say about (Jackson National Golf Club)

Clay Lewis

Played this course for the first time in 2 years. Definitely a lot of complaints I could make, but choosing to not overly complain or base this rating on needing to wait 30 minutes for a hotdog at prime dinner time (I continued to play on while my wife waited) or having to pay an extra $25 just for my wife and daughter to ride with me… I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course. New carts were awesome and some good improvements to cart path. Still need a lot of work, but heading in the right direction! Staff is nice and appreciative of your coming out. If this place could regulate pace of play, I’d honestly go with 4-5 stars. With this being the only decent option for public golf in the north Jackson area, it’s just hard to play this place in a reasonable amount of time due to quantity of people. Wasn’t able to finish a full 18 today in 4.5 hours, strictly due to that amount of people and zero regard for pace of play. I want people to have a good time on the course, but this place turns into a zoo with some of the golfers out there in their blue jeans and cutoffs. I think this place could be great and actually bring in more golfers if they buttoned up a little bit on tee times, pace of play, and required a little more golf etiquette. Love the layout and overall condition of the course! I’m rooting for this place to continue getting better!!

Great course and condition. Carts are great. Wasn’t a fan of having to pay for 18 holes when only wanting to play 9. They do their rain check voucher but was only credited 30%. Idk why they don’t just credit you for if you play just 9 holes. Seems like a good way for them to rip people off.

I rate Jackson National 5-stars because it is inexpensive, the greens are in excellent condition, and the layout was challenging. The fairways could use some love but most public courses have bald spots. This is expected. Some holes are a bit back-and-forth but it’s okay with the old tall trees. The greens met my expectations. Each one was green, spotless, fast, and the grain really had an effect. It’s what makes tennessee golf so good. Played 18 with a cart on Tuesday afternoon for about $30 bucks. Only a dozen other couples out on the course, so I played my 18 in about 3 .5 hours. The other golfers were very friendly and I think they play as quick too! Most of the par 3’s have tiered greens and good elevation changes off the tee. Very fun to play those. They also vary in distance and green shape. Outstanding design. My only knock on the par 3’s is that most of them play to the east, so you are playing the same wind most of the time. The par 5’s are quite long but the par 4’s feel longer. I played gold tees and the framing of the fairway off the tee was challenging given the trees and elevation of tee boxes. You think it’s a tight fairway until you get down there. My favorites were the holes across the street. Challenging approach shots into narrow greens with tiers. It kicked my butt. Bunkers had really nice sand which you don’t often see at a public course for this price. I will be back!
