Interesting course! Only played the front 9, but there were some cool holes over the lake, and others that were challenging due to the rolling mountains. Course was in overall good shape, will play again!
Fun, hard course. Greens are completely awful, cratered. Horrible staff for 55 a round. The staff is not streamlined at all and does not communicate. We had 2 tee times, 4 guys each tee time. The guy at the front didn't say anything about the turn being after 8. He knew we were out of towners. So, fast forward to hole 9.. we finish, and go back to the club house for lunch. I ask the lady working the counter if we can wait for 5 minutes for our other group and then go back out after lunch, or if we needed to get back out promptly. She told us that we were fine and to take our time. 10 minutes passed and we wondered where our group was... apparently the turn was at 8, and they had gotten food from a cart girl(they made their orders there and she brought it out to them). So, I had asked these kids that were working there if we can still wait and meet up with our guys, they then referred me to the lady.. who referred me to some other guy, and then he referred us to the guy that checked us out initially. He started out by saying we lost our spot in the line up and that we had a 9 hole credit... mind you, NOTHING was told to us that the turn was at 8. Not only that, we tried to be cautious and ask the right questions, ensuring we didn't have to get right back out. (The course seemed VERY SLOW, and there were TONS of carts that weren't being used). After I was firm in my statements to try and get us back out, he then told us that there was only 1 way back out, which we did and got back out. This was a horrible experience for my bachelor day(when I was trying to ensure we didn't need to go back out asap, as some club houses let you hang out and hop back on when you are done with lunch) and they need to be better at having set rules and communication with each employee. If you want a good round of golf, good greens, and streamlined play, do not go here.
We visit every time we're at Norris and this course is beautiful! We love it and it's affordable but incredibly well maintained! Perfect fairways and greens and phenomenal views of the lake! The staff at the pro shop and restaurant were very friendly and accommodating. They make sure you have everything and have fun!
