What people say about (Surrey Hills Golf Club)

Kristal Parks

We recently played at Surrey Hills and were very disappointed with the course conditions. It looked more like an open field than a maintained golf course—overrun with weeds and poorly kept fairways. To make matters worse, members appeared unexpectedly and joined in mid-round, disrupting the flow of play. For the price, it was a complete waste. We won’t be returning.

Worst course I've ever played. I've played here in the past and thought it couldn't get any worse. Well, it did. I don't know how they can justify charging what they do.

It's sad, really. The track could be very nice. But, for many reasons, this is the worst round of golf I've ever played. It starts with the pro shop. I'd booked a tee time for three of us. One of us got sick, so there were only two of us. I asked the kid at the counter for a second cart. He declines, but with a smug attitude. Despite us paying for three spots, we were denied a 2nd cart because I politely mentioned that our third would not be there, so they could fill in a 2sum if they had one. As if that wasn't enough. We head out to the first hole. I kid you not, there is no fairway. They have let the entire course be taken over by weeds and nut grass. The greens are just as bad. Dirt patches, nut grass, pits. The entire course is a disaster. We then get to the 4th hole, where the Marshall stops to talk with us. He asked if we were the ones who had a problem at the front desk. Not to apologize, by any means. He wants to reinforce that they have policies and blah blah blah. I finally had to ask the guy to move on, because he was making an already frustrating round of golf worse. I hate to complain, but honestly, this course is a complete rip off. We paid $36 a person, with a discount. This course is not worth playing for $10. I would suggest going to any other course but this one. I've been golfing here for almost 4 years, off and on, and it continues to go downhill in every aspect.
