Huge state park! There are the camp host, 1 other camper and us! It is beautiful here. We walked by the lake and watched the American Pelicans (I think). There are lots of cabins, swimming, boating, fishing, playground and a pool. I am sure there are many more amenities, but we only spent one night. . It is spring here. It is very green! Updated 2025: we loved this park so much that we went back. It’s peaceful. The lake is so pretty. We heard these loud, sounded like a boat horn, noises. Asked the office because We were thinking another tornado warning. Wr spent some time huddled up last year in the ladies room. Actually, It was a sound to notify the folks downstream that they were releasing water from the dam. I did see a negative review on Facebook, but honestly, I do not see anything out of order with this park. The folks working on Easter were the nicest. Thanks for being there for us! We will return again if our path wanders this way.
Super awesome camp! Had loads of fun over the weekend camping, hiking, swimming, kayaking, boating etc.. Water is really nice and clear compared to what you usually see in Oklahoma and was really awesome. Sunset looked beautiful from our campsite and we were close to the water too. Credit to my dad for these photos. Only complaint is the tap water which is supposed to be drinkable has a prystrong yellow tint to it and not the best. Recommend bringing your own drinking water. We washed our dishes in the lake.
Oh man, Tenkiller State Park, you won our hearts! We spent 4 days camping there, and let's just say it was a real adventure. We walked, we swam, we made s'mores... Tenkiller State Park is seriously amazing. The scenery is fun, the staff is friendly, and the campsites are great. If you're looking for a place to get away from it all and connect with nature, this is the place to be. We'll definitely be back, and I'm sure my husband will be packing the scuba gear he yet doesn’t own. Can't wait to see what other adventures await us at Tenkiller State Park!
