This is a great place to take kids to have fun in the summer. There’s a button you have to push every so often to turn the water back on but my kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I wish there was some more play equipment for the kids but they enjoyed what’s there.
Forever giving splash pads that turn off at 8 bad feedback. It is TOO HOT to get these before 6 why are you shutting it off an HOUR before the sun goes down. There is literally NO shade anywhere near the kids area at this park. I do not understand why there are no trash cans or benches anywhere near the kids areas. I'm also not a huge fan of the one stall per gender bathrooms. HUGE gorgeous park but the bathrooms were so tiny there was ALWAYS a long line. There is NO shade even nearish the play equipment. There was trash sat down everywhere because there were no trash cans. Then they turned the splash pad off at 8😮💨🤦🤦🤦 These public water attractions BLOW MY MIND on the times they are available. Did you want boiling at 2 pm in june? or One hour of cool followed by the disappointment of going home RIGHT as it's cool enough to be a parent at this park. Not a fan will pick a different park.
The Checotah Carnival is an annual event located at the Checotah sports complex. It brings the town together under the glow of neon rides and the smell of funnel cakes. I wandered through the lights and laughter with my camera, hoping to catch the sweetness of the small-town moments before they faded.
