What people say about (Arthur Hills Golf Course)

Patrick Gans

Played here last summer, got an early tee time. I was the only person out early and it was worth it. Course was in very good shape, and there are multiple beautiful holes. The course is fairly forgiving to a mid-handicapper like myself and I'd consider the greens middle of the road speed, but in great shape. Course is highlighted by a hole where you climb up and have a tee shot which is probably 150' downhill. The view itself is worth it. I proceeded to hit 2 balls into the trees to the left of the HUGE fairway. Ha.

Overall, had a good experience. Decent course layout. Course knowledge would help on some of the blind tee shots. Greens were in great shape…very receptive and rolled very well. The boxes were ok, about 50% were good and the rest were very rough. Fairways were dry but ok to hit off of. Be careful of the rough, there are places where there are some rocks showing through. Good place of play. Nice club house with good selection of merchandise and a good snack bar. Good value for the money, would rate the course higher if it could get more water on it.

Decent course for the price but several of the greens need to be redone. The greens on Holes 1 and 3 are shaped like a turtle shell, and VERY small. Even if you manage to hit the green on your approach it's probably going to roll off. Holes 2 and 6 are downhill par three's with very firm greens. If the flags are in the back they are playable, but If the flag is up front you literally have to land your ball short of the green and roll it on to get a close birdie putt. Hole ten is another green that needs to be redone. A downhill approach shot to a small (very firm) green. If the flag is up front you might as well plan on taking two less clubs and try to bounce in on to the front of the green. They either need to make these greens bigger with less slope or make the greens softer so that approach shots don't bounce so far off track when they hit the green.
