We have been coming to Timberton for several years now and are absolutely disappointed in its condition. This place was a well maintained reasonably priced for several years. What happened? The staff members tried making excuses by saying it’s been dry. Some of the greens appeared as though they were spayed with Roundup, while others had lots of trash grass and areas with no grass at all. To be charged the full price was also disappointing but you don’t realize it until you are into the round.
Timberton is a fun, not difficult course. Many holes have wide fairways guaranteed to keep the sliciest and hookiest golfers in play. We played 4/30 and the greens were bumpy and not the best shape. By mid summer, they should fill in nicely. Lots of sand comes into play along with quite a bit of water. There are many beautiful homes on the course that love when people play out of their back yards. The grille had some tasty burgers for $5. The gas carts are fast. Download one of the many course apps available to assist with gps, yardage, and shot placement as the score card does not contain a course map.
This course used to be in great shape. Well laid out, challenging and competitively priced for the area. However, the past 2 years it is gone downhill. Greens are horrible amid their prices are too much based on the course’s condition. I hope they come back.
