What people say about (Warren Valley Golf Course)

Nice course. Love what the new management has done this year. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Played after a good amount of rain and the course was still in really good condition. Kind of scared to shout it out because it was really easy to get on to, and I’m sure that will not last very long.

I'm a fan of Donald Ross golf courses. Someone told me about this course and i had never heard of it before surprisingly. So booked a tee time and played it this past Sunday. First the people running the course couldn't be nicer. The golf course is a work in progress and overall it is a cool course with some great golf holes that is all Donald Ross. Once they finish the restoration i would give it five stars. We were finishing up 17 and the ranger comes over and thanked us for raking the bunker, were like of course and he says ill buy you a drink when you finish. Not necessary but ok. We finish up and he hands me and my son a drink and a bag of tees. Just wow, like i said the people running this place couldn't be nicer. So is the course perfect no but there working on it. If they bring it back to the original Donald Ross design they have a winner on there hands with some outstanding holes on this course. They have a new building/club house with big plans for it. This new structure doesn't look like it goes with golf but hey they have a plan. I hope they have the resources to complete the plan. Cant wait to play again.

Warren Valley was previously two separate 18 hole courses, the East and West courses. It is now only one, the West course. It was designed by Donald Ross and although at the current state not in meticulous shape, the course is still a fun one to play. Greens are new(and hard) which doesn’t allow for much spin. They are however quick and roll true. Tee boxes are in decent shape. And although previous reviews trashed the course for being wet or the rough too long with clumps, you choose to golf in the spring at a course called Warren Valley, with Valley being the key word. I had a good time playing today, however the round was 6 hours, and today it is 88 degrees, there is no water for drinking on the course and no cart driving around offering drinks or snacks, which would be fine if you could easily access the clubhouse or if they had a snack shack at the turn. Regarding the pace of play. I was walking and playing with a guy in a cart, his cart had a newly installed GPS, the cart, although we were playing at 6 hour pace, told him we were only 4 minutes behind. They need to get this fixed as everyone(speaking of those who don’t know which tee box to tee from let alone how to get out of the cart and walk to their ball while your playing partner is doing the same) who looks at those will think they are playing at a okay pace, and 6 hours ain’t that. Driving range looks like it will be nice, and hopefully a renovated clubhouse is in the future as well. Would love to see this place back to its former glory as it really is a nice piece of property(minus the crisscrossing of cart paths(although smooth))
