The Barn at Higgins Lake gave us a joyful, inclusive, & overall beautiful wedding experience beyond anything we could have imagined. From the very first moment, Lisa, Skip, and their amazing helper Kit made us feel so seen, supported, and celebrated. As the first gay wedding at the barn, we were deeply touched by the innate acceptance, love, and joy they brought to every step of our journey. It meant more than we can say. The venue itself? Absolutely stunning. Inside and out, everything is meticulously maintained and cared for — it’s clear how much pride and heart they put into this space. The barn’s existing decor is magical on its own, setting the perfect atmosphere without needing much extra. It’s truly a place that speaks for itself. But what really sets this venue apart is the people. Lisa and Skip offered not just a space, but a full experience. Their coordination and care throughout the entire planning process made everything run smoothly and helped us stay grounded and excited. Their laughter, kindness, and genuine presence were unforgettable. Our guests haven’t stopped talking about the day — and we owe so much of that to this incredible team and space. We’re endlessly grateful to Lisa, Skip, and Kit for their hard work, their hearts, and for adding so much love to our day that was overflowing with it already! My wife and I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding experience. We have no complaints with how this day turned out. Lisa, Skip, and the rest of the crew did a fantastic job with making sure everything was perfectly coordinated from the start of the ceremony to the end of the last song on the dance floor. The Barn at Higgins Lake is an absolute dream. We had the most incredible wedding this past June - thanks to Lisa and The Barn at Higgins Lake. The venue is truly so magical - from having the time to set up Thursday night, the opportunity to host rehearsal dinner, time to take things down on Sunday, endless photo opportunities, beautiful landscaping, what feels like an endless supply of decorations to choose from, gorgeous and separate spaces for the bride and groom to get ready in, and most of all - comfort that the day was taken care of. Lisa was absolutely incredible to work with and made me, as the bride, feel so confident that the day was taken care of - from all of the backend details that you forget about (like simply lighting the reception candles). Lisa was so helpful in the planning process as well, with many vendor suggestions which was extremely helpful as well. We cannot recommend this place enough!
