Stayed on beach front site 77 for Memorial Day weekend. This site is the last site in the row before the restrooms. The traffic was a bit more than we prefer, but the beach front was worth it. The weather was chilly, but the rock hunting was plentiful, and the lake views were beautiful! Restrooms are well kept, and campground hosts were very friendly and gave all of the camping dog treats! We will be cleaning sand out of the camper for the rest of the summer, but we'll worth it! Only minor complaint would be the rain water from the restroom parking lot drained onto our site and down the walkway to the beach.
We had a good spot that was a little more secluded. It wasn’t very busy when we went which was good. A lot of the sites were on the water. But those book up fast. The bathrooms and showers are maintained very good. There’s a cute trail off the state park. The trail is about .34 miles long but is a super easy walk.
Very nice RV Park. The roads are one way which is good because when there are many people there the road gets tight when navigating with a trailer. There are a few pull-through sites on the inner roads. The firewood dispenser was not working when we were there, probably sold out. Dog friendly beach in the day use area was nice, I did not go the the dog friendly beach in the RV Park area but a sign says there is one. There is a dump station with two inlet hoses. Potable water hose is close by at the end of the cement island. Showers and bathrooms close to the beach. Dollar General just north of the park entrance for any miscellaneous items you may need. Sturgeon Point Lighthouse is north of the park. Clean and friendly atmosphere.
