What people say about (The Orchards Golf Club)

Zachary camaj

I can tell why the orchards was voted best golf course in Macomb county. Beautiful course, lovely clubhouse. The pro shop has a great selection. The bar is good amount of options, they were out of glizzys when we hit the turn around 6:30pm, kind of disappointing but not a big deal. Now to the course, I found it pretty challenging but very doable. Very well kept up. Greens are fast. Big sand traps that are very well kept. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. If you in the area it’s a must play

The Orchards is simply the best public course in southeast Michigan. It’s an insanely fun track that’s both playable and challenging. Odd to read complaints about the staff because I think this course has some of the best service of any course around. From the rangers to the bag boys, their operation is better than some country clubs in the area. I will be back considering it’s a similar cost, albeit not cheap, to other courses of much lesser quality.

Course is great, will never play again. We went out with a 4 some and a mid morning tee time, in my opinion we’re a good group of polite golfers who try to have a good time and keep proper pace. We made the turn at the 2 hour and 5 min mark, again solid pace, and 2 holes later had a ranger come up and explain to us that we were impacting the pace for the course and we needed to speed up. The carts all have signs that indicate a 4:24 play time as a target (we finished in about 4:15). We even had a different ranger approach us later in the round to thank us for having a “perfect pace for the day.” My suspicion is the 4 some of kids behind us wasn’t happy we weren’t scratch golf long ballers, or that the course wanted to push as many folks as possible through the turn before a potential storm to avoid rain check costs. Ultimately this is the courses fault, if you’re want us to finish in a pace of 14 mins/hole and don’t want folks waiting ever, stop booking tee times every 10 mins. In total between golf, drinks and food our foursome spent close to 700$ for our round in order to be accosted about keeping what we would consider a very good pace. There’s way too many good courses out there, for less money, I won’t be back.
