Wendell Country Club

Played this course on Monday afternoon for $29 for 18 holes with a cart. I was impressed with the price and overall condition of the course. Most of the greens were also in good shape. It is not terribly long, but the layout can be challenging at times and some greens are two tiered. A fun little gem in Wendell. I will definitely be back to play again this season.

Let me tell you something... Talk about a fantastic atmosphere, everyone here is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. As someone who is new to the sport I feel nothing but welcoming vibes either from the check in desk, round starter, & the grill. Fantastic people offering fantastic service with a smile! As far as the course goes its in great shape. Tee boxes are well maintained, fairways are obvious and kept up, and the greens are very nice (my amateur self thought they were turf at first LOL). They have a small but nice warm-up driving range to get loose & a very nice putting green as well. Overall experience is fantastic. If your looking for a new course to play at or become a member of this is definitely the one!

The course itself was decent, most of the tee boxes were pretty solid which made it pretty difficult to place a tee in the ground. My overall experience was far from positive. I wasn’t aware that arriving an hour early for a tee time was an unspoken requirement to keep the staff satisfied. As it was my first time at this course, I was unfamiliar with the layout and unsure where the first hole began. Rather than being offered assistance, I was abruptly yelled at by an older staff member that starts you off at hole one. He mispronounced my name and spoke to me in a condescending tone, as if I were his child. He was rushing me and told me I’m wasting time. Considering the amount of money I paid to play, I expected better guidance from the front desk or signage to help first-time visitors navigate the course. Instead, I was met with a lack of courtesy that left a lasting negative impression. Due to the way I was treated upon arrival, I will not be returning to this golf course.
