The Keep at McLemore

Amazing property. Greens are in perfect condition. Needs time to mature but we thoroughly enjoyed two rounds at this amazing track. Caddies were awesome (Patrick and Rob).

Course is in preview play. Didn't expect 100% on the fairways but the view was at 1000%. Can't wait to come back. The staff was great. We had a caddie our round and he was nothing short of amazing gave us great reads and good pointers for the course. Will definitely be coming back in the future when fully grown in.

Pros: The Keep is a great layout in a beautiful setting with spectacular views. Greens are in fantastic shape. Our caddy was great and made our round better. Forecaddies are needed for first time and non-members on this course. Cons: The tee boxes, fairways and rough need at least another year. So many bare spots that paying over $500 for the round regretful. Course drainage is also major problem it seems on either course. Always soggy. The Keep still has porta Johns and trailers and no parking for guests. Very cumbersome shuttle service from Highlands Club house. The biggest issue though on either course is pace of play. I do not know how their members tolerate 5+hour rounds when mixed in hotel guests. I have played the Highlands course several times and its always been over 5 hrs. On the Keep we were on track for a track for a 6hr round until rained out on 17. They will work out most of these issues but recommend waiting until 2026 to play The Keep.
