Harbor Club on Lake Oconee

Best public course within an hour of Lake Oconee. Great course with friendly and helpful staff. Practice balls are free. Course is beautiful, challenging and fair. Play speed was well well managed. Clubhouse, carts and grounds are well maintained. You can get some reasonable rates on line.

We came in from Chicago to play the course. I was charged $171 dollars. It rained the night before we played and was cart path only. The course was wet. The range was closed and the 15th hole was under construction and couldn't be played. The bathrooms on the course were disgusting. Now for the pro shop's staff decisions. I've had nine knee surgeries and asked for a handicap flag for the cart. They said no. I asked if we got a break on the green fees because of the above mentioned problems and because of the weather the night before that we had no control over. They said no. I thought golf was supposed to be a gentleman's game. Not at this place! I'd give no stars if it let me.

Fun course to play. Greens are recovering from aeration. We played after 3" of rainfall, so cart path, patches of soggy fairway, and not much roll. Course is in excellent condition.
